The Toolkit for Teacher Educators to Embrace Social Justice Pedagogies (link to toolkit) offers a comprehensive resource for fostering equity-driven approaches in teacher education for teacher educators. The toolkit includes testimonials from teacher educators and preservice teachers, case studies, visual prompts, readings, practical activities, a pedagogical framework, and opportunities for active engagement. Developed as part of the Justice Ed project—Education for Global Justice, Solidarity, and Interconnectedness—the resource is tailored to embed social justice approaches within physical education teacher education programs. Led by a team from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences of the University of Limerick was funded by the Irish Research Council's New Foundations Awards (Strand 4b – Education for Global Citizenship and Sustainable Development), in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs (Irish Aid), the Department of Education, and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, this initiative promotes global justice and sustainable development in teacher education. Ulster University (Northern Ireland); Deakin University and The University of Melbourne (Australia); and Kent State University (USA) were part of the Justice Ed consortium.
