This is the
protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To
systematically assess the evidence for parent-mediated interventions aimed at
improving communication and language development in children with Down syndrome
aged between birth and six years. As a secondary aim, we will examine the
effects of the treatment on parental behaviour and responsivity. We will also
assess the effects of the treatment on the children s non-verbal means of
communicating and socialisation.
