Migrant health research prioritisation in Ireland: a participatory arts-based action plan -A joint report from Doras and the Health Research Institute PART-IM Research Cluster, University of Limerick
This action plan outlines the context, implementation, findings and recommendations of the Research Prioritisation in Migrant Health project (RIMPAP) which was led by Professor Phelan and co-designed by the cluster’s migrant NGO partner, Doras, and academics. The key aim was to engage in a research prioritisation process using participatory and arts-based approaches (particularly music) to generate a research agenda for Ireland about migrant health research.
In May-June, 2021, the Irish World Music Café hosted a special series of online cafés to explore the use of arts and music to generate a research agenda for Ireland about migrant health research. Participants from migrant communities, health organisations, NGOs, artists and researchers came together to share their music stories and agree a set of priorities to be shared with World Health Organization leaders supporting migrant research. The final action plan themes identified were holistic health; language and culture; and mental health.
