An investigation into the effectiveness of the T-REX digital badge in improving research self-efficacy and attitudes to evidence-based practice in a sample of teachers working in Ireland
Date
Abstract
This study examined the impact of a pilot Digital Badge introduction to research training on research self-efficacy (RSE), attitudes to evidence-based practice (EBP), knowledge of EBP and knowledge of wellbeing literature in a sample of teachers working in Ireland (N=10), as informed by Community of Practice theory, using an explanatory mixed-methods design. Through paired-samples t-test, significant differences in terms of RSE, attitudes to EBP and knowledge of EBP were observed. Through interview (n=8), participants detailed the importance of applying evidence to practice and how the research skills learned could be applied to different wellbeing issues that may present in the classroom.
