Abstract
We are delighted to welcome you to the inaugural issue of ACS Engineering Au (pronounced as ACS Engineering “Gold”). ACS Engineering Au is one of the nine gold Open Access journals that the American Chemical Society (ACS) launched in January 2021. The editor-in-chief of all nine ACS Au journals, Shelley Minteer, recently published an editorial (DOI: 10.1021/acsengineeringau.1c00001) that explains the motiva tion for having this new family of fully open access journals. In this inaugural editorial for ACS Engineering Au, we introduce the journal, editorial board, and its open access mission and discuss the scope of ACS Engineering Au as a fully open access journal for researchers and engineers working on chemicals, materials, and energy.
