Abstract
It is difficult to understand how, in 2025, with improvements in scientific understanding of child and youth development and with advances in increasingly effective human services for young people, the quality of outcomes for the most vulnerable can be so poor. Yet it is precisely this problem of modernity, with its development of increasingly tailored services, that contributes to the unintended consequences that ‘No Wrong Door’ aims to address.

Description
REPPP (Research Evidence into Policy, Programmes and Practice) is a research collaboration between the School of Law in the University of Limerick and the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration in Ireland. Its aim is to improve the evidence base in relation to youth crime and youth justice policy and practice. REPPP’s research activities are informed by, and in support of, the Irish Youth Justice Strategy.
The SLSS (Stable Lives Safer Streets) Hub is an all-island research hub in youth justice funded by the HEA as part of the North South Research Programme. The SLSSHub is a collaboration between, the University of Limerick, Queen’s University Belfast, and the Centre for Effective Service. The SLSSHub’s aim is to enable a sustainable cross-border approach to evidence building and its use in developing good policy and practice to understand and respond to youth crime, criminal exploitation, and community safety.
