Abstract
The conference, “Challenging Hate: Protecting Human Rights and Strengthening Democracy” is organised by the European Centre for the Study of Hate at University of Limerick in association with the Council of Europe Steering Committee on Anti-discrimination, Diversity and Inclusion (CDADI). The conference focuses on the practical application of two key Council of Europe Recommendations: CM/Rec(2022)16 on combating hate speech; and CM/Rec(2024)4 on combating hate crime. With over 80 speakers and delegates from 36 countries across the world, the conference brings together different perspectives from people working across sectors on combating hate speech and hate crime. This is the programme and book of abstracts for the conference.
