Abstract
A Fourier transform interferometer using a regular microscope glass slide as a beam splitter was built and was used to measure the spectrum of a tungsten light bulb source in the visible and near infrared spectral range successfully with satisfying outcomes. The obtained result was analyzed and compared with those obtained with a regular cube beam splitter. This experiment demonstrated that inexpensive microscope glass slides can be used as beam splitters
for low-cost Fourier transform spectrometers.
