Conducting field studies in software engineering: an experience report

Involving practitioners in software engineering research is crucial for relevant, applicable results, but finding willing participants can be difficult. This experience report describes some of the issues that can block or mar eld studies of software engineering, and suggests tactics to avoid or mitigate these problems.
