Al estudiar la literatura que se centra en la representación de la guerra civil, de la posguerra, la reconstrucción de la memoria a través de la ficción, tanto el escritor como el crítico, ambos, y por extensión también lectores, no deben olvidar las otras circunstancias que rodean al texto, que no solamente es un producto literario sino que además está determinado e influenciado por otras variables culturales, sociales, históricas, etc. El presente estudio ofrece una exploración de la aparición y desarrollo de la literatura de la memoria (con algunas referencias también al cine), haciendo una reflexión sobre la conexión entre dicha tendencia y el contexto socio-político en el que se desarrolla. Asimismo, se presenta el análisis de una serie de manifestaciones literarias en las que es posible identificar claramente la dinámica de representación en que la ficción entra en contacto con la historia. Con todo ello, este trabajo intenta ofrecer un examen crítico del significado de dichas producciones literarias en relación con el movimiento por la memoria, con especial énfasis en sus aportaciones y también los posibles riesgos o peligros quedicha producción textual entraña. When studying the literature focused on the representation of the Spanish civil war, the postwar and Franco’s dictatorship, the reconstruction of memory by means of fiction, both the writer and the critic (both readers by extension) must not forget the other circumstances that surround the text, conceived not as a literary product only but also as a cultural artefact determined and influenced by other cultural, social and historical variables. This study explores the appearance and development of the ‘literature of memory’ (with some additional references to cinema), offering a reflection on the connection between such literary trend and the socio-political context within which it develops. Also, it presents an analysis of a number of literary works in which the dynamics of representation determined by the contact between fiction and history are clearly identifiable. In all, the main aim of this piece is to offer a critical examination of the meaning of such literary production in relation to the memory movement, with special emphasis on the contributions that literature can make to it as well as the possible risks or danger that it entails.
