This narrative report will present the findings of a funded research project in the form of a single case study carried out during a specific time period, from the 1st September 2014 to 25th February 2015 in one Irish post primary school. The data collection period took place between late November 2014 and mid-February 2015. This single case study examined a whole school approach to guidance counselling in one post primary school since the re-allocation of guidance counselling provision in Budget 2012. Ever since the Irish Education Act (1998) a whole school approach to guidance counselling has been disseminated by Irish policy-makers as a model of good practice in the delivery of guidance counselling in the post-primary sector (Hearne & Galvin, 2014).
