There is immense joy and freedom to be found in exploring a space, whether it is a newly discovered street or a rocky path up a mountainside. When people explore as a group they are engaging in a form of play activity, one without rules where team work and camaraderie can happen and often interesting situations occur spontaneously along the way, exploring a space is both a highly individualistic activity and a social one as it is casual and voluntary. Also there is a strong sense of achievement and satisfaction in progressing along a route to discover something new; this could be an interesting view or the other side of a wall seen from afar
