My architectural project investigates spaces of refuge. From an
analysis of the organic structure of seashells, I have chosen to
work with the sculpted interior of the vacant Jesuit Church in
Limerick. In this space I am designing a sheltered public space
for the city. Adjacent to this, will be a Women and Children’s
Refuge. This will inhabit the surrounding Georgian residences
with an extension wrapping around the corner to define the
street edge and an enclosed courtyard space.
